Is there a way to get cell reception in a dead zone?

I have an iPhone 4G and my family frequently visits a summer home in the middle of a dead zone. I get cell reception a couple miles away in town but not at the house and was wondering if there is anything I can do to boost the signal so I go from 'no service' to getting a few bars? I've researched a few cell receivers but I'm unsure if they would boost the signal since I'm in a 'no service' zone, or if there's another way to (possibly) get a signal.
